| About | The Radio Room building is a recycled 1949 Texaco Station that was originally built during the aftermath of the tragic Vanport flood in 1948. But dont be fooled by the fact that the original structure remains intact. The addition of the lounge, restrooms and rooftop patio have transformed the dilapidated building into what is rapidly becoming a neighborhood institution that attracts a wildly diverse collection of neighbors and friends.Radio Room is owned by two lifelong friends and close-in east-side Portlanders, one who lived in the Alberta neighborhood as a kid and the other who now lives just a few blocks away. The two native Oregonians purchased the property in 2005 and set out to transform the old gas station into a neighborhood eatery and lounge that would attract and reflect the creativity and diversity of the Alberta neighborhood. |
